Amazon Prime Members: Annual Rate Increasing to $99

Hey Amazon Prime members/Amazon Student Members Amazon.com has just announced that existing Prime members will now pay $99 per year on their annual renewal date and Amazon Student members will pay $49. If you are an existing Prime Member, you will be receiving an email from Amazon sometime today with this announcement and the date that your membership is set to renew.  It’s only 1.66 more a month. I think I can afford that :) and it is worth it in my opinion.  Diapers, books, household items etc… in two days for a reasonable price.Image

Dear Customer,

We are writing to provide you advance notice that the price of your Prime membership will be increasing. The annual rate will be $99 when your membership renews in December.

Even as fuel and transportation costs have increased, the price of Prime has remained the same for nine years. Since 2005, the number of items eligible for unlimited free Two-Day Shipping has grown from one million to over 20 million. We also added unlimited access to over 40,000 movies and TV episodes with Prime Instant Video and a selection of over 500,000 books to borrow from the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.

For more information about your Prime membership, visit our Prime membership page.

Sincerely,

The Amazon Prime Team

Ways to Use a Mason Jar in Your Kitchen

canning jars

These jars are the best!  I love the color and many ways you can use them.  Here are some of the ways I use them.

1. Leftovers. Perfect for soups or stews, grains like rice, chopped veggies, scrambled eggs… endless possibilities.

2. Smoothies. Make extra and store it in the fridge for later in the day, or use the jar to bring the smoothie when you’re on the go.

3. Drinking water for day. Need a way to visually measure how much water you are drinking throughout the day? Try using quart or 1/2 gallon mason jars to put your daily water out on the counter, then use it to refill glasses until it’s gone. You’ll know for sure whether you hit your water target or not.

4. Spice mixes. Making your own spice mixes is cheap and easy. The small jar (1/2 pint or smaller) make ideal spice jars.

5. Dry pantry staples. I like to buy in bulk, then store staples like sea salt, baking soda and baking powder in jars.

6.  Storing dry beans, pasta, rice, etc. in the pantry. There’s something particularly pleasing about a pantry full of mason jars.

7. Mason jar salads. Love this brilliant idea!

8. Homemade cough syrup or other cold-kicking remedies.

9. As a drinking glass. I’ve seen many people actually build up a collection of various mason jars, purely for the sake of using as drinking glasses. Great for everyday, or fun for a party or special event.

10. Dry baking mixes like bread, pancakes, etc. Making your own homemade baking mixes saves money and time. Store them in amounts that are just right for one morning of pancakes, or two loaves of bread, to simplify the baking process even more (no measuring!).

Product Review: Carol’s Daughter Monoi Oil

Carol's Daughter Monoi Oil

I fell in love the moment I first pumped out into my palm, the scent of the Monoi Oil is AMAZING, it is delicious, it is warm, rich and sultry.. I can’t get enough of it.. I have shoulder length hair… I straighten on the weekly.. My hair is always in need of nourishment.. I really try to apply very lightly to the roots and more liberally to the ends.. I do the moisture and seal method…I get the best coverage for my hair without adding to much to any particular spot.. This product is good for getting your hair back together after post baby shedding.

Product review: Fair Trade Certified™ Green Mountain Coffee®

Keurig k-cups and green mountain Columbian……….I have found no better cup of coffee anywhere!!! Not for lack of trying either!! The quality of coffee makes a huge impact on flavor, but when you combine superior coffee with a superior brewing method………This gets me going in the AM when I have to juggle getting my toddler ready for daycare, and getting myself ready for work.
